Providing leading edge technology and equipment to optimize fibre utilization for the production of wood-based panels, Kadant Carmanah's products include SmartDISC Stranders, SmartRING Stranders, Rotary Debarkers and Conveying/Feeding equipment. As a global leader in stranding technology, the company holds an impressive 80% of the market share in this field. Equipment for the sawmill and pulp and paper industries includes Chippers, Screens and Debarkers. Kadant Carmanah has a long history supplying and servicing chippers and providing OEM quality parts globally, with chipper brands that include Sumner, Black Clawson, CAE and Nicholson for waste-wood, whole-log, pellet and veneer applications. The company has a license agreement with Fuji Kogyo Company of Japan to manufacture and sell the Fuji King Rotary Debarker. The product has done extremely well with sales of over 250 units globally. Kadant Carmanah is also a major service centre for pulp and paper equipment repair and refurbishment. Many of the company's employees are graduates of local technical institutions such as the British Columbia Institute of Technology, and the engineering and forestry faculties of the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University.
