For a number of years, the town of Truro lacked an arts and cultural centre to host various live performances and arts education programs. When the former Centennial Theatre, located in the heart of Truro, became available, a plan to purchase and develop the facility into that long-awaited venue was created. That plan resulted in the money for both the purchase and the renovation of the facility being raised through a Community Economic Development Investment Funds cooperative venture. The Centre houses a 206-seat theatre, a small art gallery, a workshop space for arts-in-education programming, a sports heritage hall, a board room, a concession area, and offices. With the strong support of the community and various organizations, the Marigold Cultural Centre provides a variety of cultural programming to a large number of Truro-area residents, while also providing a major downtown focus for economic development. 
The Marigold Cultural Centre in Truro is frequently commended for its friendly staff, clean and comfortable environment, and great productions by the Hubtown Theatre group. The small setting boasts excellent sound quality and visitors consistently laugh all night long due to well-written shows and superb acting.

The Rath Eastlink Community Centre offers recreation opportunities and major events for everyone in our communities. The original concept for a new Community Centre was rooted in a local initiative to attract the 2011 Canada Winter Games to central Nova Scotia. In part, this effort was motivated by recognition that new and updated facilities were needed in the region in order to effectively address programming limitations, deficiencies with existing recreational infrastructure and inabilities to accommodate sport development and growth. Rath Eastlink Community Centre is a popular recreation centre among locals and visitors. It offers various affordable activities such as swimming, rock climbing, ice skating, and fitness classes. The facilities are clean, the staff are friendly, and there is ample parking. The community centre also hosts events and workshops.
