Leaside hockey is about more than winning and losing, its about community. There is a rich hockey history in this community for everyone to look up to..literallly. A glance up into the Leaside Gardens rafters will reveal the NHL sweaters worn by famous players who at one time played here. Among them are the Montreal Canadiens jerseys of Peter Mahovlich and Dave Gardner. Hanging above centre ice is our heritage jersey, as 2002 marked the 50th Anniversary Season of the LHA. It's design harkens back to those worn by the LHA teams back in 1952. The LHA is incorporated as a non-profit organization. It is governed by a Board of Directors elected by our members. Open lines of communication and accessible officers ensure that the needs and views of all members are acknowledged. Today, the LHA is one of the most respected minor hockey associations in the country. Our philosophy of providing children a solid foundation of hockey fundamentals BEFORE integrating game experience develops better hockey players over the long term. Three program streams - House League, Select and GTHL - provide over 1, 200 players and their families with a hockey experience that meets their commitment and competitive needs. A Leaside team is a fun team, a fair team, a well-coached and supported team, and yes, a competitive team. The National Yacht Club has a vibrant racing community. Members sail a wide variety of boats from small dingys to large 40 foot yachts. Within the club there are several classes of boats. Some are ‘one design’ fleets in which the boats are nearly identical. Other fleets such as the PHRF divisions contain boats of different types and use a rating rule to score results fairly.
