The Urban Piano Company provides professional care for pianos in individual homes as well as schools, colleges, recording studios, professional organizations, and for entertainment events. We are experts for all brands of pianos including: Steinway, Yamaha, Baldwin, Chickering, Bosendorfer, Kawai, Knabe, Cable Nelson, Kohler & Campbell, Samick, Story & Clark, Schimmel, Wurlitzer, and more. We schedule appointments by area and cover all of the GTA, Burlington, Hamilton and Brantford. Adam Weir has been playing the piano since he was 10 years old. His passion for music has led him to pursue a career both as a performer and as a piano technician. He believes strongly in having a profession that excites and challenges him. Music does that very thing. The beautiful thing about this profession is that no matter how much you know, there is always more to learn. Adam learned his trade from the Randy Potter School of Piano Technology and uses his natural musical abilities combined with the most advanced electronic tuning aids to ensure the most precise tunings possible. Array’s Ensemble, its most visible program, is a collective of performers recognized worldwide for innovative programming and virtuosic performance. Known for including Canadian composers who possess highly individual voices, Array’s ensemble has a unique, eclectic repertoire, which always includes internationally recognized composers — John Cage, Steve Reich, James Tenney — and encompasses an extensive body of contemporary Canadian work. Array’s ensemble has more recently been comprised of an unusual instrumentation of clarinet, trumpet, percussion, piano, violin, and double bass. In addition to its extensive, distinguished concert repertoire, Arraymusic is actively involved in interdisciplinary, multi-media and theatrical work. This has resulted in the production of several repertory programs in addition to such full-length works as Big Pictures by Michael J. Baker, Personal History by Henry Kucharzyk, nostalgia by Robert W. Stevenson, and Chemin de ronde: music/dance collage (a creative collaboration between composer from Lyon, France and Toronto).
Customers express positive experiences with Arraymusic, praising the renovated space as feeling more spacious and flexible. The Monday night Balfolk dancing events are also mentioned as a highlight.
