Roy Thomson Hall, which opened in 1982, is the home of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, premier venue for the gala screenings of the Toronto International Film Festival and the venue of choice for corporate events throughout the year. It is named in memory of Roy Thomson, Lord Thomson of Fleet following a naming gift to the hall by the Thomson family. The Corporation of Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall is managed by a professional management team with a volunteer Board of Governors.
