Why the name Grassmere? The name is derived from Lake Grassmere, a lake that was part of the Wisconsin Glacier approximately 13, 000 years ago. Lake Grassmere (also know as Lake Lundy) once covered the area of Southern Ontario, half of the state of Michigan and even reached as far east as Syracuse, New York.
