Established in 2002, Thompson Unlimited (TU) is the City’s economic development corporation, its mission is to “foster a dynamic business climate by providing support and resources to grow Thompson as a northern center of diverse economic opportunities and as a community having a well-developed quality of life”. Thompson Unlimited is directed by a volunteer board drawn from the community and appointed by the City. Advisory Committees assist Thompson Unlimited in identifying and pursuing opportunities. TU takes its direction from a recently completed wide based consultation, the Thompson Economic Diversification Working Group (TEDWG) the process developed action plans in 5 areas including economic development.
