SPG Annual General Meeting
Bringing some of Canada's funniest comics to perform live in Greater Sudbury. Spanning the country from Toronto, Montreal, and Halifax, to Winnipeg, Calgary, and Vancouver, our comedians have performed on Just for Laughs, Comedy Central, the Comedy Network, and SIRUS XM's Top Comic. We have partnered with Trevi Bar & Grill to allow local professional musicians a venue to perform Thursday evenings. Greater Sudbury has such a rich and deep musical background worth seeing on stage at the Trevi for our 'wine o'clock' supper concert series. From Broadway musicals, to laugh-a-minute comedies and riveting dramas, SPG also presents the finest live theatre for all ages, at venues across Greater Sudbury.
Customers express great enjoyment and appreciation for the Sudbury Performance Group's productions and initiatives, particularly during quarantine. Cast and staff are praised for their talent, organization, and inclusivity. Younger attendees and participants also express positive experiences.

The first stumbling steps in the life of Sudbury Theatre Centre were the direct result of The Awkward Stage, a book that reported the findings of a 1967 theatre study funded by the Ontario Arts Council and Canada Council for the Arts. The Chairperson of the project was Lt. Governor Pauline McGibbon; Sudbury's representative was Peg Roberts.
The Sudbury Theatre Centre is highly praised for its professional productions and affordable prices. The building is well-kept and volunteers are pleasant and knowledgeable. Patrons have enjoyed various shows, including Jersey Boys and Matilda, for their incredible acting, singing, music, and acoustics. Some suggest improvements for seating comfort and clarity in ticket information.
