Dan has been working in the strength and conditioning/rehab field for 8 years. Prior to that he had some pretty cool internships including the Brampton Battalion (2003-04 season) and the Toronto Blue Jays (2005 season). Academically, Dan has graduated from St. Marys DCVI, University of Guelph (BSc Human Kinetics) and Sheridan College (Sports Injury Management). His first job after school was managing the Athletic Therapy staff at Olympia Sport Camp in Huntsville. Immediately after that he joined the Belleville Bulls for the 2006-07 season. His duties there included in-season dry-land training and managing the injuries of the team. During that hockey season, the Blue Jays came calling, offering him a job as an Athletic Trainer in the minor leagues. His duties included monitoring strength and conditioning programs and injury prevention and rehabilitation. He helped develop many of the current Blue Jay players and often worked with Major League Players who were sent to Florida on a rehab stint. In March 2013, Dan made the difficult decision to walk away from professional sports for the opportunity to open his own business. McIntosh Sports Performance and Rehabilitation is designed to offer all the expertise that Dan gained in his journey through the sports world to local athletes in the Stratford area. Whether it be strength and conditioning, injury rehab or concussion management, MSPAR offers everything the athlete needs to take their game to the next level. Dan is also working with the Stratford Cullitons as the team’s Strength and Conditioning Coach and Athletic Therapist. Having played numerous competitive sports in his younger days, Dan now enjoys playing pick-up hockey, golfing and obsessing about his young son’s correct movement patterns while teaching them sports skills.
