About Mud, Sweat and Gears | Sherwood Park, AB Mailing Address: Here’s where it all started. Back in ’85 I entered my first Triathlon and after a good swim was first out on my K-Mart Targa road bike. Needless to say I got my doors blown off cranking that tank into the transition. The next day I was in my Local Bike Shop and walked away the proud owner of a Bianchi 12 speed. Three months and several Triathlons later the LBS ordered me a Vitus Carbon Road bike (the first in the city with index shifting). To pay for the bike the owner of the shop hired me and I worked the rest of the summer on the tools supporting my addiction. A few years, dozens of Triathlons and a handful of Mountain Bike races later I moved to Sherwood Park and decided to start my own business fixing bikes out of the laundry room. After a couple of years the basement was over run with bikes and I decided I had better build a shop. Up went a garage and in the blink of an eye it was full and by year 16 the property was pushed to the limit. So here we are, my wife and I took the plunge opening Mud, Sweat and Gears in December of ’06 at 133 Main Blvd. My retail experience has a solid foundation from working as a boy in my Dad’s grocery store back in Manitoba. There he taught me not to judge a customer by the car they drove up in, each and every person deserves the best we can give them. Basically, the mantra the customer is always right. Well, over the past 16 years I’ve stuck to that principle and it has taken me to where we are now. Our mission at Mud, Sweat and Gears is to provide you with the best environment and service level we can to meet your needs. Will we be perfect every time? No way, but you will help take us ever closer to the pinnacle of products and service. It’s a tired old saying, but if your happy with us tell a friend, if your not tell us!
