Silver Creek Elementary is a rural school, 22 kilometres southwest of Salmon Arm. The school is located on 8.7 acres of land with playing fields, a forested area, a tennis court, two adventure playgrounds and other equipment. The community is a mixture of old and new families, as many of the parents and even grandparents, attended the original Silver Creek School, which is still housed on our property. This original building is now being used by a branch of the Okanagan Regional Library. The population of the school is on the rise with increasing number of families moving to this warm community. Our students come from families who live on farms, small holdings and in two mobile home parks, all within our catchment area. The families represented at our school are predominately Caucasian and English-speaking with a wide socio-economic spectrum.
