Everything started in 1981 when my father bought our first golden retriever Max, from the Chrys-Haefen kennel of Toronto. We immediately fell in love with the breed. A few years later we continued our experiment with Sunny. At 9 years old, I got my feet wet in the canine world by taking part in the Junior Handler competitions and I won the provincial title twice. At 14, I went to see Jennifer McAuley of the Chrys-Haefen Kennel to buy Sheana.
