Mission Divine Mercy School will have an educational philosophy that is faithful to the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church and concerned with the academic, human, spiritual and apostolic formation of its students. History In 2000, several concerned parents began to meet regularly to discuss the possibility of starting a Catholic school. The very first meeting held to discuss the possibility of a school was on Divine Mercy Sunday and so the school was named Divine Mercy Catholic School. We look with fondness on our first year of humble beginnings. In September of 2003, we had the use of the library and Knights of Columbus room at St. Peter’s Parish basement where twenty-five students were enrolled that first year. The second year found us housed at the former Holy Trinity Rectory where we remained for the following four years as our enrollment grew to 58 students. For just over a year, DMCS was located at the former Saint Vincent’s High School while preparations were made for our permanent location at St. Peter’s - the former Redemptorist rectory. Our DMCS students are being formed body, mind and spirit. We recognize the value in educating the whole child and we strive to create an environment where this objective is met daily. We pray that God’s abundant mercy lead us in His ways for years to come.
