Many of our customers will know Stampede Crane & Rigging in Medicine Hat under their former name of Cox Crane. Lee and Blaine Cox started up Cox Crane in 1979 in Lethbridge AB. In 1985 the brothers decided to open a new division in Medicine Hat to serve the oil & gas, construction and power transmission industries. The early success of Cox Crane was built on customer service. Lee Cox believed that the best way to build a company was to build it on a foundation of solid customer service that focused on integrity and honesty. Whenever anyone from Cox Hoisting (now Stampede Crane & Rigging) dealt with a customer they did it in a way they would expect to be treated. In 2008, Bob Fairbank, COO of Eagle West Cranes, had a vision to open branches in Alberta to better service his customers that were working across Western Canada. In 2008 Eagle West Truck & Crane Inc. acquired the teams of Cox Crane, Cox Hoisting and Custom Crane in Medicine Hat, Lethbridge and Brooks. As a family run company built on a reputation of honesty and integrity, the partnership was a perfect match. The newly formed company, run by the same folks who built the business up, would be able to build on the history of exceptional customer service and commitment to safety. Today, Stampede Medicine Hat provides mobile crane rental and services for its customers. Since the three branches now worked together they have a much wider variety of cranes available to work with to meet the demands of their customer’s projects. The project demands that would be met with the same customer service it was built on to provide safe hoisting on time and on budget.
