Cette fondation a été créée en 2005 dans le but d’apporter un soutien à la recherche réalisée dans la Division d’orthopédie de l’Université Laval et de contribuer à l’épanouissement de la chirurgie orthopédique au Québec. Trois motivations principales sont à l’origine de la FAROQ : une amélioration de la collaboration scientifique entre les divers acteurs, une ouverture vers la société québécoise et une autonomie de la propriété intellectuelle.
