Ottawa Rec Sports believes recreational sports should be about sportsmanship, teamwork and providing a welcoming environment to players of all skill levels. Our goal is to provide players with a safe, fun environment to develop their skills, learn new sports, and meet new people. We take a competitive approach to the logistics of league management, and work to provide high quality equipment, fields, referees and stat tracking systems for all of our leagues. All divisions are carefully balanced to place teams against opponents of similar skill and competitive outlook and to protect the recreational environment for beginners.

Our mission is to strengthen the Paralympic Movement in Canada. The Paralympic Movement is a group of individuals and organizations collectively engaged in developing sport and sport-related opportunities for people with a physical disability, so that they can fulfill their personal potential and fully participate in their community. Our vision is a thriving network of individuals, sports organisations, community and government groups working together to give people with a physical disability the chance to benefit from the sense of confidence, empowerment and pride that comes from playing sport at any level. The Canadian Paralympic Committee identity is a combination of the most recognizable Canadian symbol — the maple leaf — and a stylized flame representing the Paralympic Torch and the passion that unites all members of the Paralympic Movement. The logo incorporates the International Paralympic Committee identity. The red, blue and green elements are called Agitos (from the Latin word "agito", meaning "I move"). They encircle a centre point to represent that athletes are coming from all corners of the world to compete together. The unification of the two identities symbolizes CPC’s proud commitment to empowering persons with physical disabilities worldwide through sport. The identity is an expression of partnership, leadership, and fairness, while promoting a strong and vibrant Paralympic Movement across the nation.
