The University of Ottawa is proud to announce the establishement of the André E. Lalonde Accelerator Mass Spectrometry Laboratory for research and analysis of trace radioisotopes. The Lalonde AMS Laboratory was funded by the Canada Foundation for Innovation and the University of Ottawa. It hosts a custom-designed 3 MV tandem accelerator mass spectrometer from High Voltage Engineering now installed in the Advanced Research Complex (ARC). The ARC is a state-of-the-art, open-concept, research only building designed to integrate students and researchers from across Canada and the world and foster innovation and interdisciplinarity in the Geosciences and Photonics. The new Lalonde AMS Laboratory is a central feature, adjacent to the ARC's glazed foyer, to highlight the technology of Canada's only AMS to our students – our next generation of researchers.
