Founded in 1975 under the name Fédération des francophones outside Quebec, became in 1991 the Federation of Francophone and Acadian Communities of Canada, the FCFA is the main spokesman for the 2.6 million francophones living in nine provinces and three territories. The FCFA has 21 members, 12 Francophone associations spokesman provincial and territorial and 9 national organizations representing various sectors and clienteles (literacy, culture, justice, community newspapers, health, seniors, youth, women, early childhood). It also acts as a leader of the consultative network of organizations and institutions of the Francophonie. She coordinates the Leadership Forum, a coalition of 43 organizations working together to realize, through the Community Strategic Plan, the vision adopted at the Summit of Francophone and Acadian communities in 2007.
