Meditation is an ancient practice of self-discovery that has been taught for more than 2, 500 years. The view of meditation is that every human being has the ability to cultivate the mind’s inherent stability, clarity and strength. In this way, we can develop mindfulness and awareness, as well as the compassion and insight needed to care for ourselves, others and the world. Peaceful Abiding The main meditation taught at the Ottawa Shambhala Meditation Centre is a mindfulness meditation called shamatha (Sanskrit for “peacefully abiding”). It is practiced as sitting meditation, walking meditation and shamatha yoga. The technique uses the breath as the object of our attention to come back to the present moment and away from distractions. In this way, we train to reconnect with the natural state of the human mind—at rest, open, alert—and relate directly to the flow of life, appreciating each moment. Anyone can learn to meditate. It does not require belief in any particular spiritual tradition and requires no particular physical skill. The Shambhala Centre in Ottawa is highly regarded by its clients for providing a peaceful environment for meditation and learning. The centre offers organic offerings and a welcoming community. Newcomers to meditation feel welcome and supported. The centre is an excellent place to begin one's mindfulness journey with inspiring people and helpful resources.

The Bronson Centre is a popular live music venue in Ottawa, known for its amazing people, exciting show lineups, and cozy, intimate atmosphere. Customers praise the excellent service, comfortable seats, and fast, friendly bar service. The sound quality is on par with larger venues, making it a great spot for both small and larger concerts. Parking can be a challenge, but customers appreciate the security and feeling of safety. Some shows may be pricey but are worth the experience.
