The Glebe Centre is an accredited charitable not-for-profit long-term care home that provides residential care and community outreach services to clients in the Ottawa community. This year, The Glebe Centre celebrates its 125 birthday in caring for elderly citizens of this region. Beginning in 1886 with Ontario's first Home for the Aged, the site at 950 Bank Street has continued its dedication to seniors through the provision of services, housing and personal support. To accommodate the increased need, a new high-rise home was built in 1974, and Bronson Place was added as a nursing home in 1995. In 2004 we moved our residents out of the high-rise into a new six-story residence that meets all of the latest Ministry of Health standards. We now house a total of 254 residents in our two connected nursing home buildings, including a floor that offers special services for Asian residents, and which has been strongly supported by the Chinese Community. 
The Glebe Centre is a well-managed retirement home with kind and professional staff. Residents are assisted with individual care needs and the facility is kept clean and organized. The nursing team implements a Butterfly care model that allows for a safe and engaging environment for residents. Visitors speak highly of the activities offered and the kindness and compassion shown by the staff.

Help Lesotho directly supports more than 10, 000 vulnerable people each year. Our indirect impact is replicated by program participants who are all encouraged and supported to share what they learn with others. Help Lesotho is the only organization of size that has its head office located in the field rather than the capital city. The Chapter has been granting wishes since 1969. This vast geographic area is the responsibility of our Provincial Office in , with a staff of , backed by a team of dedicated volunteers and a supportive board. Like the rest of the Foundation, we never turn down a wish child. We are able to do this thanks to the generous support of the public, corporate sponsors, planned gifts, donated goods and services and funds raised through special events. Together, we are working to make life better for children all over . Each year, thousands of Canadian children between the ages of three and 17 are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada is dedicated to granting an exceptional wish to every child. Established in 1984, Children's Wish is a national non-profit organization dedicated to fulfilling a favourite wish for children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses. Since its inception 25 years ago, Children's Wish has granted more than 16,000 wishes for children and their families and fulfills approximately 900 wishes annually -- granting nearly three wishes everyday -- each being an individual adventure, carefully structured to meet the needs of that particular child. The foundation has never refused a wish to an eligible child. Children's Wish, a grassroots charity with chapters in every province and territory, relies on the generosity of its donors and volunteers to make certain that no wish is refused. Children's Wish has established itself as one of the most recognized registered charities in Canada and the most recognized organization when it comes to granting wishes for children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses.
