Originally established in 1988 by the St. Anthony’s Church Choir, an annual fundraiser was held to support and raise awareness for the Canadian Cancer Society. In 1999, the Ottawa St. Anthony Italia Soccer Club along with the late Mr. Steno Resonnasse and members of the Ottawa Italian-Canadian community launched what is now known as the annual Daffodil Gala. As a third party fundraiser, this event supports the Canadian Cancer Society – Steno Rossanese Endowment Fund for Cancer Research. It helps fund the expensive costs associated with basic laboratory research to clinical trials to studies in cancer prevention, population health and quality of life.
