The Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation is a registered, non-profit charitable corporation, governed by a Board of Directors composed of members of the Canadian Fire Service and other interested Canadians dedicated to honouring Canada’s fallen firefighters. The Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation was incorporated in 2003 to construct a national memorial to Canada’s fallen firefighters, conduct an annual national memorial service, and support their families. In 2012 the Foundation’s efforts led to the completion and dedication of the new Canadian Firefighters Memorial in Ottawa on the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway, just off Wellington Street, west of Parliament Hill, and close to the Canadian War Museum. The Canadian Firefighters Memorial honours firefighters of Canada who have died in the line of duty, and is a place where their families and indeed all Canadians may spend a quiet moment remembering their heroism.
