On November 27, 1968 the first meeting of the Noel and District Vol. Fire Department was held at the Nova Scotia Light and Power building. The original name was the Noel and District Fire Brigade. The area served included the communities ofNoelShore, East Noel, Noel, North Noel Road andNorthfieldand part of Burncoat. Our coverage area now stops at theFindley Roadand part ofNoelShoreis covered by Maitland. After amalgamating with Moose Brook Minasville Fire Dept in 1997 the area expanded to include the area from Noel to Tenecape. The first equipment bought was a portable pump, the first truck was a 1962 AMC bought for $600, and was stored in a borrowed garage.
