Ralph Petley-Jones was educated in Nova Scotia and Ontario. He earned his Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Law degrees at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was called to the Bar in British Columbia in 1980 and has practiced in Nanaimo, British Columbia, since 1981. Ralph continues to expand his knowledge through courses offered by the British Columbia Law Society, particularly in the area of estate planning, and has attended virtually all of the courses offered in this area in the last number of years. He also has extensive training in mediation. Ralph has been an active member of the Nanaimo community for many years. He has been the secretary of the Rotary Club of Nanaimo North, a trustee of the Nanaimo School Board, and a director of the Nanaimo Mountain Bike Club. An avid recreationalist, Ralph enjoys mountain biking, skiing, running, climbing, and (especially) windsurfing.
