The Village of Myrnam is located approximately 180 KM NE of Edmonton Alberta at the intersection of regional Highways 45 and 881. Originally settled in the early 1900's, a post office was established in 1908 and a CPR siding and town site followed in 1927. As frustrated residents debated over a potential name for the Village one resident wishing dissension to cease, cried out Myrnam, which in Ukrainian means peace to us.
