Autonomous Federation of Teachers (AWF) has eight unions representing some 34, 000 Francophone teachers (one-third of teachers in Quebec) preschool, primary, secondary, adult education and training professional. These teachers work in nearly 800 schools and centers mainly concentrated in the regions of Montreal, Laval, Lower Laurentians, Outaouais and part of Montérégie. AWF also welcomes the staff of Peter Hall school and Fournier Education Center for students with disabilities and difficulties, as well as members of the Association of Retirees of the AWF (APRFAE).
