Originally from New York City, I received my B. in Psychology from Barnard College of Columbia University and my M. W. from New York University. After moving to Montreal in 1985, I completed an intensive three-year couple and family therapy training program at The Argyle Institute of Human Relations where I am currently a teacher and supervisor of Psychotherapists-in-training. In 2011, I opened the Sedona Counselling Centre of Montreal . With over twenty-five counsellors and wellness professionals, we offer psychotherapy, marriage counselling, family therapy, life coaching and other services. I'm an international guest expert on television and radio on issues related to mental health and emotional well-being, notably having appeared on NBC's The Today Show and been written about in Time Magazine and Maclean's. I was the resident Family Therapist on Global Television's morning news show, This Morning Live and had a segment on CJAD radio's Kim Fraser Show called Stark Realities. I write a blog for Psychology Today magazine called My first book My Sister, My Self: The Surprising Ways that Being an Older, Middle, Younger or Twin Shaped Your Life (2006) is about the impact of sister relationships on women's identities. My second book Runaway Husbands: The Abandoned Wife's Guide to Recovery and Renewal (2010) is about Wife Abandonment Syndrome.

Heidi Wiedemann is a talented and authentic psychologist. Her sessions leave a lasting impact, helping clients grow and become stronger. Recommended for those seeking direct, smart, fun, and engaging therapy. Previous negative experiences with therapists led one client to initially hesitate, but ultimately found Heidi to be the best decision for personal growth.
