Been there/done that... and don't want it? Neither do we! Looks like we're on the same page. Church ... at least the way it is today... isn't our idea of what church is supposed to be. At all. Church - the way that Jesus taught it - isn't a "place"; it's a people. A community. And it's not about dress codes, money or a "once a week" type thing. Church was meant to be vibrant, community based and full of people who's lives intertwined. That's church... well, at least it's supposed to be! House Church... not perfect, but different! Moncton House Church was founded in 2011 with one goal: To see people's lives transformed by... love! Sound sappy? lol. Think about this for a moment. How many of you reading this Kijiji ad know everyone who lives on your street? Probably only a few of you. We've become so disconnected we don't even know our neighbors anymore! Gone are the days when people were truly connected; now we're living with locks, fences and walls to keep outsiders out. House Church isn't perfect but it sure is different. The locks, fences and walls have all been replaced by friendships, fellowship and community. We take seriously the words of Jesus: "Love your neighbor as yourself". It's hard to love people you don't know, isn't it? House Church is big enough to take you in but small enough to know you by first name. We're a community of imperfect people who serve a perfect God who calls us to support those around us... not point fingers.
