Pencil Studio is relatively young, just founded in 2013, so I am eager to learn from my students and their parents. Having been in the design industry for over 5 years, and I am confident I can provide guidance for my students. I believe all of us innately enjoy art and beautiful things. However, we eventually start to have more rigid expectations of ourselves and perceived expectations of others. This occurs quite often in children. When they do not meet these expectations, they lose interest and give up; they stop exploring and stay inside their comfort zone. While technical skills are important, they are merely the tools for artistic expression. My philosophy is to always keep students interested and engaged in order to nurture artistic passion. I believe the most important lesson of art is to learn to enjoy it so that in the face of new challenges, there is still the motivation to explore and try.
