He has been an active volunteer in the Ontario Herpetofaunal Summary, the North American Amphibian Monitoring Program, the Great Lakes Marsh Monitoring Program, the Ontario Odonata Atlas project, species-at-risk reporting, and annual Audobon bird counts.
