Le 1er avril 1911, Antonio Lemieux, horloger de métier, ouvrait son commerce sur la Côté du Passage à Lévis. Quelques années plus tard, la bijouterie a déménagé sur la rue Saint-Louis où elle aura pignon sur rue plus de 90 ans. Maurice entrera à la bijouterie en 1942 pour aider son père. Il devint propriétaire en 1955. Horloger de métier, il suivit des cours afin d'obtenir son diplôme de diamantaire-gemmologiste, profession qui le fascinait davantage avec le baby-boom d'après-guerre. Il devint un des meilleurs de sa profession au Québec.
