Farmers Markets have been around since the early 1900's. Farmers would bring their produce into Leduc to sell on a casual basis even before a formal market was organized. In 1973 the Minister of Agriculture established the Farmers Market Program in Alberta. The Leduc Farmers Market received official status in 1975. The market was held inside the Alexandra Arena during the summer and inside the SAAN mall during the winter. 
The Leduc Farmers Market is a popular local destination for customers to support local farming and craftspeople. The market offers a great selection of produce, fruit, and various miscellaneous items. Some visitors appreciate the community feel and enjoy their visits on weekends.
