Adaptaide was founded in 1996 and incorporated in 1998 by Sylvie Charette, technician, specialized in orthopedic medicine and Benoit Girard, a mechanical design Engineer. By combining their professions, they had demonstrated their expertise towards the development and manufacture of several products, including a unique shower surface and a rugged transfer device for pathologically overweight person, for which a Canadian and American patent were filed. Over the years, Adaptaide has developed more new products such as water treatment carts. Initially, these carts were designed for dialysis in hospitals. These products have since evolved and some versions are now available for home dialysis. Today, Adaptaide manufactures modular hydraulic panels for water treatment, specialty carts, accessories for hospital beds, rescue harnesses, covers and specialty bags. The company is located in the industrial park of Le Gardeur, Quebec.
