TOWN OF LADYSMITH boasts over 110 hectares of parks and open spaces offering seaside fun, nature experiences, playgrounds, and play fields.This pituresque park features a lawn, bridge and collection of different trees and shrubs including Sequoia, Garry Oak, Pine, Cedar and Dogwood. It is located at the entrance to Transfer Beach Park on the corner of the Island Highway. Ladysmith is pleased to be among the first municipalities in B.C. to offer curbside pick-up of organic waste in addition to garbage and recycling pick up. Ladysmith started being serviced by BC Transit through Cowichan Valley Regional Transit on September 3, 2013. There are four local routes and one regional route serving Ladysmith. The new local service has replaced the existing Ladysmith trolley system with the added bonus of regional connections. The regional route will see four round trips on weekdays from Ladysmith to Chemainus. Once in Chemainus, customers can easily connect with Cowichan Valley Route #6 to Crofton and Duncan.
