Kitchener Waterloo Musical Productions, affectionately known as KWMP, was founded in 1948 as the Twin City Operatic Society. The early productions were performed in the auditorium at The Church of the Good Shepherd. As the performances grew and a larger space was needed, the stages at KCI and WCI fit the bill. In 1968, the group found a permanent home for rehearsing, set building and storage at its current location on Shaftsbury Drive. It was renamed Kitchener Waterloo Musical Productions to fit the broad scope of its artistic programming. More than 65 years later, KWMP continues to be one of the top community theatre organizations in Canada. The group performs three productions a year: two major musicals in November and February, and a variety show style fundraiser in the spring. On stage and off, many dedicated volunteers are committed to the vitality of the organization. New members are always welcome. We began serving our community in 1956 as a private care facility for mentally retarded children; #We were incorporated under a Volunteer, Community Board of Directors in 1966; We were ‘Listed’ as a Schedule II Facility under the Province’s Developmental Services Act (1974), until Apr.1, 1999; We are now one of the Ministry of Community Social Services (M. S.) Central-West Region Developmental Services Transfer Payment Agencies; We hold both ‘non profit’ and ‘charitable’ status; We receive ~ $16 million in annualized subsidy from M. S.; Today we are a multi-site, multi-faceted organization providing residential care and day programming for developmentally challenged individuals with physical & emotional impairments; offering outreach services to individuals, families and agencies in Waterloo Region; and operating MCSS’ Developmental Services Ontario in Central West Region We are a founding member of the Great Lakes Society for Developmental Services of Ontario; a patron of the Ontario Association on Developmental Disabilities; and an associate member of the Ontario Hospital Association.

Restoring, minor customizing & collision repairs on all makes & models of cars. Specializing in European autos but catering mostly to fastidious auto buffs. Mitek employs 15 that are energetic & auto buffs themselves. We have been looked upon as to be the best autobody shop in Ontario & some feel Canada, though we feel there are others that do compare. Owner/Partner- Randy Zurbrigg, employed by Mitek for 10 years restoring & fabricating panels & misc items. Randy is a n auto aficionado & a perfectionist in all aspects of autobody detail. His experience & talent is unmatched in the autobody industry. Together partnering up to expand the restoration & custom autobody fabrication part of Mitek that we have always wanted to do but didn’t have time & space to do this specialized part of business. Riotz Creations is a dream of Randy & Mike that finally has come to pass.
