Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with more than 1.4 million members in approximately 46, 000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world. The Kirkfield & District Lions Club was chartered in 1969. Responding to the community need for medical services, the club’s first undertaking was to build a medical centre. Aided by walk-a-thons and raffles organized by an enthusiastic community, the centre was opened by Club President Wallace Osborne in July 1973. The club remained active in the community through fundraising activities such as street dances, bingos, provided financial support to the C.N.I.B., Minor Hockey and Ringette, Canadian Diabetic Association, local schools and many local community charitabler oganizations. In May of 1985 the Lions Club purchased what is now the 11 acre Lions Park. 
The Kirkfield District Lions Club is a multi-purpose venue with various events and activities, such as bingo, car shows, and fundraisers. The facilities are clean and well-kept, and the members and guests are described as great, pleasant, respectful, and fun-loving. The Lions Club supports the community by raising funds for various causes.
