The Social Planning Council has begun to explore the use of social enterprise tools, such as community bonds, for the development of affodrdable housing. Our goal is to raise awareness about social needs in Kingston and area and to engage citizens and community partners in planning and action on social needs that will improve the well being of the whole community. The SPC works to build social capital in the community between individuals and groups to enable collaborative action on projects of common interest.

SWITCH was incorporated in Ontario in 2002 as a not-for-profit organization. Since that time SWITCH has grown from a collection of interested individuals to a strong network of approximately 140 private and public institutions and individual members representing many facets of the sustainable energy community.
