Lou Grimshaw is a native of St. Catharines, Ontario. He has been a professional army officer, historian, antiquarian and defence management consultant. He has had 40 years reserve and regular service with units such as the Lincoln & Welland Regiment, PPCLI, The Royal Green Jackets (UK), The Canadian Airborne Regiment, the National Defence College (Centre for National Security Studies). He has served in a variety of training and staff appointments including as a technical staff officer for the UK Director of Infantry and as Canadian National Standardization Officer in the ABCA Armies Standardization program.
