Loyalist Taekwon-do provides individual attention to all students so that no one is left behind. Testing is done approximately every three months or sooner if the student has shown the instructors they have achieved their belt level requirements. To make this more concise, we provide stripes to belts to help differentiate which students need more classes. As the name "Loyalist" suggests, the origin of this club recalls the geographical location from which it emerged. The United Empire Loyalists is a name which has been given to American Loyalists who resettled in British Colonies as an act of faithfulness to King George III after the British defeat in the American Revolutionary War . Some of these Loyalists settled in the modern-day Ontario, including a town known as Prescott. The original Loyalist Taekwon-do School operated out of Prescott, Ontario for seven years, closing in 2004. The name for this school was chosen not only for the aforementioned reason but also to show an allegiance "to the original martial art as created by Gen. Choi (ITF), loyalty to the original techniques as taught by Master Park Jung Tae (GTF) and loyal to family and community." (Mr. Gobeil - original head instructor for Loyalist Taekwon-do School of Prescott). Although the Prescott school came to a halt in 2004, a student, obtaining her black belt with the "Loyalist's" instructors, remembered and is grateful to this day of her beginnings in Taekwon-do. Moving to Kelowna, BC in the same year, Ms. Zissoff has continued her training in the GTF style and teaches at the Okanagan Boys & Girls Club (Martin Avenue Community Centre), Kelowna, BC. Zissoff has her 4th Dan in Taekwon-do and is an International Instructor. Her achievements to date in taekwon-do are: Loyalist Taekwon-do is a member of Federation of Canada Loyalist Taekwon-do is a member of.
