Founded in 1914, the Art Gallery of Hamilton is Ontario s third largest public art gallery and owns one of the finest collections of art in Canada, featuring over 9, 000 works of art including historical European, historical Canadian and contemporary art. The Art Gallery of Hamilton is a clean, bright and open space with a varied collection of art from different decades, including contemporary pieces and some 19th century paintings. Some visitors found the entrance location and parking costs to be a drawback, but were impressed with the art and the occasional free admission days. The team goes above and beyond for events, and there is potential for creative photography. Recommendations include works by Canadian artists such as Norval Morriseau, Emily Carr, Alex Colville, and Lawren Harris. Visitors also praised the knowledgeable front desk staff and the guided tours.

The Royal Hamilton Light Infantry – is the oldest combat infantry regiment in the Hamilton-Burlington area and the only one with a presence in both cities. The infantry’s role is the most complex and demanding of all combat roles and the light infantry role is the most demanding within the infantry. With continuous heritage stretching back to 1862, no other unit in Hamilton and Burlington comes close to matching the history, combat record and community presence of “the Rileys”. Day and night, on foot or in the air, rain, sun or snow, in the high Arctic, in mountains, jungle or desert, the RHLI are doing it all!
