The Peace Parkland Naturalists are dedicated to increasing knowledge, interest and enjoyment of Natural History in Alberta's Peace Country Region. The Grande Prairie region has given rise to two natural history clubs in the past two decades. The Northern Alberta Nature Club began in 1976 through the efforts of Yvonne MacAlister. The name of the group was changed to the Trumpeter Swan Naturalist Society (TSNS) in 1977 to allow for incorporation.
