Dr. Jacques Charbonneau became interested in scientific advances in the field of cosmetic dermatology in the 1990s when he first purchased laser equipment. “At the time, I tried to convince a few colleagues to embark on this adventure with me but most of them were afraid they would not get their investment back.” Laser treatment equipment can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Convinced that cosmetic dermatology was the way of the future, Dr. Charbonneau decided to go in it alone in 1996 and opened a clinic in the Ottawa-Gatineau region.
