James Mowat is an elementary school serving students from ECS to grade 6. The school day is broken into ten 30 minute periods and a DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) period. We offer the regular elementary program with French as a Second Language offered for 4 periods a week starting in grade 4. Extra assistance is provided to students who have a delay in language arts. These students receive small group instruction outside the regular classroom for a portion of their language arts time. A wide variety of extra-curricular activities are available for students who choose to participate in them, examples include; choir, safety patrols, school council, track teams, intra-murals, etc. Information on these can be found in the monthly newsletters as the activities are organized.
