Maren Esch Maren is the sole owner and founder of Barkside. Maren was a veterinary technician before opening the store and is very knowledgeable in all things pet. She has two heelers, Trout and Tyrone, a Rocky mountain teacup heeler Rebel, and two cats. In her spare time she enjoys mountain biking, skiing, group dog walks and all Fernie has to offer. She is soon embarking on a Karen Pryor dog trainer certification course. Tristin Zimmer Tristin has worked at Barkside since opening the new location on 2nd ave in 2009. Tristin has two dogs, Freida and Henry, both of whom struggled with food allergies. It is because of this that she is incredibly knowledgeable in dog nutrition. She also has two cats, Cornelius and Moko. When she is not at Barkside her favorite activities are mountain biking, trail running, snowboarding, camping all with her fur kids of course. Jenn Woods: Jenn has worked at Barkside since the summer of 2013. She loves animals of all shapes and sizes and has a dog named Brie. She also has cats. Jenn brings a very positive energy to the store and is interested in dog training. In her spare time she enjoys the great outdoors with her fur kids. Jenn also has a degree in Art history and Psychology.
