In total health, energy flows freely through the meridians in a balanced way. When an injury occurs, or one becomes sick or suffers from stress & anxiety, some of this energy becomes blocked. The body experiences pain, numbness and/or fatigue. Fine sterile needles as thin as a strand of hair, are gently inserted into the blocked meridians in order to re-establish the proper flow of Chi. As the energy begins to flow again in a balanced way, pain, numbness and/or fatigue disappears and the client becomes well. In Western terms, Acupuncture stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system and sends a message to the brain to release the 'happy chemical' endorphin. Pain, stress & fatigue begin to decline. The body is relaxed & reset. Osteopathy works with the musculoskeletal system to remove circulatory, spinal, and lymphatic blockages.
