Avenue Vineyard Community Church beliefs are consistent with what most Christians have believed since the time of Jesus. To those familiar with contemporary Christian lingo, we say that Vineyard churches have made a conscious effort to blend evangelical theology with charismatic experience. While we are far from perfect, we try to learn how to practically live out our beliefs in our everyday lives by following the example of Jesus, His words and actions, as best as we can. Therefore we teach people to be open to the leading of God’s Spirit and to pray effectively for God’s Kingdom, His rule and His reign, to break into situations on earth.

Avenue Church came into being in response to God’s call to love our city of Edmonton. We are a new church plant rooted in the exciting and emerging district of Alberta Avenue, currently gathering for worship in the beautiful neighbourhood of Parkdale. We recognize that many people have been hurt by or have become disillusioned by the church. Many now question its relevance in our society. Avenue Church is imagining what the church could actually be like if we took Jesus at his word. As such, we are seeking to be a community to belong in and a community to serve with. Our Sunday gatherings are a time where we come together to worship God together and learn about his love, grace and plan for our lives in community! The worship experience is interactive, the setting is informal. Come and find a community to belong in!
