Tempo School offers an orderly and integrated education to its students. In the early years, the primary focus is on developing language skills, laying the foundations for Tempo’s mathematics program, fostering sound work habits and the social adjustment to the school setting. Other subjects are added to the curriculum Tempo’s educational program builds progressively in breadth. Our Upper School prepares students for university entrance and a successful post-secondary career. Tempo students and their parents come from a wide range of backgrounds. The school community comprises many ethnic, social, cultural and religious backgrounds. What is shared is a commitment to education. Tempo expects parents, especially in the early grades, to be involved in their children’s schooling by encouraging and overseeing their children’s homework, particularly their reading. There is a high level of communication between the school and parents. At all grade levels, Tempo parents are expected to take an interest in their children’s schooling and to help the school develop good work habits and civilized standards of public behavior in their children. Tempo assumes that children learn best from dedicated and competent teachers - whether in school or out. We place great emphasis on obtaining highly qualified teachers who can not only stimulate an entire class, but who are also willing to give their time and attention to individual problems.
