Master Kim was born September 5 1982 in Gong Ju, South Korea and has over 35 years of experience in training and teaching. When he was 3 years old, his uncle In-Jak Kim, who was at the headquarters in Song Mu Kwan, brought to Master Kim his first taekwondo uniform and Master Kim's taekwondo journey began. Master Kim started to compete in sparring when he was 10 years old. He spent more than 180 days per year travelling around Korea to compete in various competitions. He would spend some of his free days between competitions visiting uncle In-Jak's dojangs in the cities of Hae Nam, Gwang Ju, Gong Ju, Gyeon Ggi, Seoul and at the Kukkiwon. At these dojangs he experienced and learned many different teaching styles and skills. ?Upon turning 20, he applied to the special forces to serve his time in the military and served 5 years. While in the special forces, he won the military headquarters competitions 3 times in his weight category and was a taekwondo instructor.
