Our School At our playschool, our kids live, love, laugh, and learn! The Callingwood/Lymburn Playschool is a non-profit, parent co-operative playschool, run in conjunction with the Callingwood/Lymburn Community League. We are located in the Lymburn Elementary School at 18710 - 72nd Avenue and we are licenced by the Province of Alberta. Our school has adopted the Learn Thru Play philosophy, believing that helping children to use their imagination fosters wonderful daily opportunities for learning. The purpose of the playschool is to provide enriching pre-school experiences for children from the ages of 3 to 5 years old. It is our intent to provide a warm, stimulating environment for our children; an environment that provides opportunities to play and learn under the direction of qualified and experienced teachers. Our program strives to develop the total child : emotionally, socially, intellectually, and physically. We are a Co-Operative Playschool where all parents participate in our school’s operations by assisting in classroom activities and managing the school’s board of executives. We have an enriching and stimulating facility. Located within Lymburn School, we have access to the school gym where our students can play on plasma cars, throw and chase balls, roll hula hoops around and play on the gymnastic equipment. Lymburn School also has a brand new playground which our children love to play on when the weather is accommodating. We also take our classes on numerous field trips throughout the year to such places as the Telus World of Science, the Festival of Trees, Horizon Gymnastics, and Fort Edmonton Park. Morning and afternoon classes are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 3 year olds, and Monday, Wednesday and Fridays for 4 year olds.
