Ildrenâs Garden Nursery School is a place that I have been fortunate to call âhomeâ since our doors opened 28 years ago. As the owner and director of the school from the very beginning, I have had various levels of involvement. When the doors were opened back in 1986, our enrollment was a huge total of two children! During the early years, not only was I was a classroom teacher, supervisor, but a mother of three young daughters. Now, my children are grown, enrollment has increased and my role is primarily of Director, although I am still actively involved in the odd diaper change and stepping into the classroom to witness all the wonderful activities the children are enjoying. I take great pride in providing our families with wonderful teachers, excellent programming and the opportunity for young children to experience a positive introduction to a new world of learning. Private schooling is not only a financial investment but an emotional investment where families are trusting our school with their childrenâs education welfare and I take this very seriously. I always try my best to ensure that every aspect of running the school is done with integrity and that every decision always comes down to âIs this the best for the children?â We look forward to setting up your own personal tour. Holland Bloorview serves about 7,000 children each year, with about 600 inpatient admissions and 52,000 outpatient visits. Holland Bloorview is a world-class teaching hospital fully affiliated with the University of Toronto. We train future health-care specialists in the field of childhood disability. The Bloorview Research Institute is located onsite, allowing us to integrate cutting-edge research and teaching with frontline care to improve childrenâs quality of life. A small number of our clients have complex chronic diseases that require round-the-clock medical care. Holland Bloorviewâs storied history tracks back to the last days of the nineteenth century when, thanks to the foresight and determination of a group of Nurses at The Home for Incurable Children, 1904 dedicated women, âThe Home for Incurable Childrenâ opened on Avenue Road. Clearly, the evolution of what is now Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital has undergone many dramatic changes through the generations â and nearly as many name changes along the way. What hasnât changed, though, is the support of a caring and compassionate community whose contributions have helped create a world-class facility that epitomizes our slogan, âFrom Disability to Possibility.â
